This pattern is worked as a scrap quilt. Each block is done in different fabrics.
However, it is recommended that fabrics in each block go well with previous blocks.
Colors below are used for reference only and not actual colors to be used.
Quilt Top can be done in five sizes as indicated in cutting chart below.
Scrappy borders can be added to alter sizes.
Final assembly directions will be given with block #12.
Dig in that stash or bundle of FQ's and let's get going.

Fabric Suggestion: print or solid

 Color A should be light. 
  Color B should be medium.  
 Color C should be dark.

On the wrong side of the color A squares, draw a center cutting line
corner to corner, and a 1/4" sewing line on each side as shown at right.
Do the same process on two of the color B squares.

Following the process for making HST's from previous parts, create the following:

make 4 HST's with colors A and B as shown at right.
(press seams toward color A)
make 4 HST's with colors A and C as shown at right.
(press seams toward color C)
make 4 HST's with colors B and C as shown at right.
(press seams toward color B)

Using a square up ruler, trim pieces to size given in chart below.

Using the half-square triangles, create rows and join to form the block as shown below.
Be sure to lay squares out so seams are opposing each other before assembly. Note that
the * 's indicate which side the seam is pressed toward. Press the new seams in opposite
directions for each row to obtain opposing seams for joining rows together.


The unfinished size of the block should be as indicated in chart below.
